Our first camping trip of the season was to Rend Lake! It is a beautiful lake in central southern Illinois with many lakefront spots. We had a large, electric only site that had an amazing view! On this canoe trip we experienced high summer temperatures, humidity and thunderstorms. We paddled for 5 days in Dalarna and Värmland. On day 3, we had to paddle between thundershowers and make sure we had set up camp just in time before the downpour.
