Anchoring your tent in snow
Stomp or use snow shoes to flatten and pack down a tent pad, I assemble my tent from there
For the tent stakes, dig a hole with your foot or the stake itself and burry it sideways. This method is called a Dead-man anchor. I add a bunch of layers and stomp on the snow to pack it down.
If you find that’s not good enough, you can bring cord and tie a knot around the centre of the stake and attach to your tent. There are bigger and longer stakes designed for snow but the basic stakes that came with my 3 season tent have worked for me.
This is part of my How To Stay Warm Winter Camping series. I have a bunch of other tips on my reels page
