We explain why the hammock and tarp system is not suitable when camping at higher altitudes during rainy season in the tropics. Provided your tent has a waterproof base and you choose a campsite with reasonable drainage, you shouldn’t have any problem with ground flooding, in the mountains everything will eventually flow downhill and away from you.
