On this episode we ( Hoseong, David, new member Eugene, and myself) head out to Silvermine lake area late in the day and hike about 30 minutes into the mountains and set up camp nearby the trail. We had 2 visitors Justin and Pat stop by and later decided to join us overnight.
We had an interesting thing that happen and unfortunately I was not able to catch it on film. We had forgotten food in David’s truck so I grabbed my flashlight / headlamp and headed back to the parking lot to pick up our food. Didn’t think to take my camera with me because I didn’t intend to film myself. On my way back from the parking lot back to the campsite I heard leaves rustling and twigs snapping.. (the trail runs parallel with the lake which is very close) All of a sudden I hear a big splash like as if someone was throwing big heavy objects into the lake. I stop and scanned my surroundings with my flashlight and couldn’t see or hear anything.
So I continued and then I saw 4 eyes staring at me.. it belonged to a pair of coyotes checking me out and then running off into the distance. I then continued about 10 more minutes and reached camp without any other incident.
