I realized while I was in Red River Gorge that I hadn’t actually shown how I setup my hammock camping load out. So here is a detailed video showing my setup for when I go backpacking.
I show how to hang the hammock and the tarp (Warbonnet Big Mamajamba). I’m using a sleeping pad for bottom insulation because I’m practicing for if I have to ground sleep on some of my trips. For those interested I use Dutch Stingerz for my tarp and Black diamond z poles to put it in porch mode. My top quilt is an Enlightened Equipment Enigma 20 degree top quilt.
I’ve used this setup so often that putting it up is second nature and it’s easy to take down, and really comfortable.
