CAMPING IN THE RAIN
I set out to do a bushcraft hammock camp in Oregon’s lower Cascades. It started with high hopes, and ended on a dismal note.
In 1805, Meriwether Lewis reached Oregon during his Corps of Discovery journey. Because of endless rain and cold temperatures, he referred to Oregon as a “Dismal Nitch.” This adventure shows why.
