Many thru-hikers are asked, “What do you eat on trail”? I employ a no cook, no cold soak strategy to my food list, which has many advantages. I don’t carry a stove, fuel or cookware. I don’t need water to cook or clean with. This is perfect for desert hiking, where water is scarce. I do “no cook meals” for my backpacking food.
If you don’t like cooking or cleaning on trail, “no cook meals” for backpacking food might be right for you.
