First time camping in a bivvy bag – Snugpak Stratosphere rainy wild camp and review

CAMPING IN THE RAIN
I took my new Snugpak Stratosphere bivvy bag out for a test run on a rainy September night in the UK.

The results were disappointing – damp, cramped, lack of storage, lack of practicality without also having a tarp, and with the flaps zipped closed lack of oxygen that had me panting!

So OK I could have pitched it under a tarp, but if I had a tarp I’d rather sleep in a hammock.

This is probably pitched more as an ultralightweight piece of kit for hiking, or an emergency 1 night shelter. Quite rightly so, because it doesn’t offer the comfort or practicality of a tent or hammock system.
