We wanted to spend a day in Chicago, but we didn’t want to take the RV IN to Chicago. We decided to stay at the Indiana Dunes State Park campground which really surprised us. The beach was beautiful and it was fun exploring the sand dunes.
We were able to take the South Shore Line train an hour into the city, so we didn’t have to deal with traffic or parking. We had a great day exploring downtown Chicago, the riverside, Navy Pier, eating hotdogs at Portillos, and more! The icing on the cake was watching the sunset over the Chicago skyline from the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore.
