I leave no trace !
I leave no trace – I have always left no trace. There has been recent negativity in the media regarding “fly camping” “antisocial camping” and people generally trashing our wonderful outdoor spaces. This has been saddening to watch, not to mention frustrating ! The same terminology used in the media “wild camping” has the potential to mislead others, who are less informed and give the impression that it is one and the same…..
This could not be further from the truth ! True wild campers LEAVE NO TRACE ! They pitch HIGH – arrive LATE, leave EARLY and other than flattened grass – there is no trace that they have been !
I wanted to try and do my bit to counteract this misconception – and do my own bit by reaching out to others whom I knew had the same love and respect for our outdoor places.
Thank you so much to everyone who responded and took the time to send me their messages of what “leave no trace” means to them – we have a great community here online and we’re all bound by the same theme – we love the Great Outdoors!
