The reason this fire works so well is due to it’s efficiency in heating up the wood to it’s ignition temperature PRIOR to flames hitting it!
When wood undergoes pyrolysis, it climbs in temp until it off gasses. This off gassing is what actually burns and catches flame. Pyrolysis is the first step in combustion.
When the wood heats up in this way, it becomes WAY more efficient and a cleaner burning fire. It will also produce less smoke when working properly.
