Dehydrater used £59.99 https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dehydrator-Adjustable-Removable-Vegetables-Additional/dp/B08QCX115N
Basic recipe instructions are:
cut meat and veg into very small pieces (approx 5mm). You can use a coarse grater for things like carrot.
Remove as much fat as possible from the meat. If using mince use the lowest fat version you can find. I used 500g of 5% fat beef mince
cook meat with no oil, use water to avoid sticking if necessary. Mix well with bread crumbs or blitzed oats during cooking. This helps it to rehydrate better
cook vegetables separately, no oil add herbs and seasoning to suit, use water if needed
cook spaghetti/other pasta/rice
once cooked, drain excess fat from meat and pat dry with kitchen towel to remove as much fat as possible (fat makes it go rancid over time)
dehydrate at 70°c in a dehydrater or the lowest setting on your oven. Most air fryers also dehydrate 😉 The meat and spaghetti took about 4 hours. The veg took about 8 hours to dehydrate. It should look like something out of a pot noodle when it’s finished (my mum said I should’ve used mesh sheets instead for quicker drying)
leave the meat in a sealed container for 3 days to make sure there’s no moisture or fat left. (store the other ingredients in an air tight container too!) If there is any moisture return it to the dehydrater
combine ingredients together with chosen flavouring powder (most of a packet even though it says 4 portions) in this case I used bolognaise
to rehydrate measure a cup of water to start with. Add a little more if necessary. Wrap it up to help it stay warm and wait about 15 minutes. Et voila! 😁
