Putting up the DAC full size truck tent. It’s a
one-person, less than 5 minute job. I bought it on amazon, and paid US$150 plus shipping and taxes ($172 total). I only use it when i don’t need to be stealthy. It adds so much room to our set up. My truck bed is 5’5″, adding the tailgate gives an extra 2′ of space. This campsite was mosquito hell, but they never find their way into the back of the truck. My gas struts don’t work at this height, so I’ve clipped on some little plastic tubes to hold the tailgate window horizontal. The tubes are the leftover plastic core of doggie poop baggies, with a slot cut out of one side. They fit just perfectly, and aren’t too brittle. I originally tried using the plastic outer part of a pen, but it was too weak and brittle.
