As soon as I saw this on Leo’s Instagram page (X-BOIL) I knew I had to have one!! I messaged Leo and he very kindly sent me one to test out and try to share with you lovely lot!
It has not disappointed AT ALL! As you know I love his X-BOIL stove and that is my go-to now for all wild camps it’s just perfect for me, but this, wow, this is absolutely brilliant!!
We have used it several times now in the short time I have had it and have used it with a burner, wood fire and charcoal and it all just works! Even the skewers have multiple uses which I wish I’d shown you but I used them to turn food, scrap the charcoal embers out when we emptied it, to support a pot over the burner and you can even use them to cook kebabs on!!
It’s the perfect size for a really decent fire and barely left a mark on the grass; there was a slight mark but compared to some fire pits we’ve seen/used this was brilliant.
You can buy two different sizes, the X-FIRE 14 and and X-FIRE 19. The numbers relate to the diameter of the stoves so I have been testing out the 19 as I felt personally for me this would be more useful, especially when I am out with the family but the 14 looks brilliant too. You can also buy an ultralight version of the 14 which is made of Titanium but for me personally, I am more than happy with the stainless steel version and really don’t feel the weight is an issue at all.
