TOP 5 WILD CAMPING SPOTS UK | Wild Camp Locations | Salewa Litetrek 2

WHERE CAN I CAMP
This weeks video is of my top 5 Wild camping spots UK. It has been quite a year so far! I have hiked 4 long distance trails and come across some stunning wild camping locations along the way that I would like to share with you.

Unfortunately I damaged my knee whilst hiking the Snowdonia Way mountain route last month, so am waiting for it to heal properly before I head back out to finish the trail, but what an incredible experience it had been so far! Coming in at number 5 was our wild camp in Snowdonia national park at the summit of Y Garn Mountain.

Number 4 was my first ever wild camp in the Lake District, as we started wild camping the Cumbria Way. We pitched up our Salewa Litetrek 2 on the shore of Beacon Tarn and had a fantastic nights camp.

Coming in at number 3 was a wild camping location we discovered whilst hiking the Cleveland Way in April, up in the North Yorkshire Moors, we pitched up just past Bloworth crossing on Incline Top, the views were insane and we had the most incredible sunset. This was also the coldest wild camp we had witnessed, with temperatures dropping on the Yorkshire moors that evening to -3 degrees!

My second favourite wild camping spot of 2021 so far was half way up mount Snowdon in wales, we had started climbing the Watkins path, but when we reached the top of the waterfall section we veered left up to the upper quarry reservoir on a different path and camped in an area looking out across the water. We had a wonderful view of the summit from the tent and got up early to reach the top before the crowds arrived.

Which brings us to my favourite wild camping spot in the UK of 2021 so far …. We hiked the Great Glen Way up in Scotland in June, and found a ready made pitch in the woodland coming out of the town of Drumnadrochit. It had a bench and a fire pit and some spectacular views of Loch Ness nearby. I think I loved this wild camping spot so much because of the amazing company I had that evening and of course, the lack of midges in this area which made the evening far more comfortable.

Just a quick reminder to everyone to please be respectful when wild camping.
Where possible, get the land owners permission, set up late and leave early, don’t pitch up in popular areas and of course…. Leave no trace.
