We had the opportunity to do a return woodland camping trip to a location we had visited a couple of years ago.
This campsite actually promotes a more rustic and wild camping experience and is set in a small section of stunning Scottish woodland.
Sadly it is only open to regular visitors and they are not taking any more clients at this time. As such we are very grateful and it was very kind of them to let us stay and film our overnight camp.
A good friend of mine Terry, ‘The Bushcraft Bothier’ joined us for a night and showed me his DD Hammock and fire starting skills as well as how he cooks chicken using his woodchip smoker.
It was one of the few times that I have had a campfire and was great to do some campfire cooking and spend the evening chatting away about the great outdoors, hillwalking, photography and bothy culture.
Due to good food, company and strong alcohol much of the evening has been edited which has taken a silly number of hours.
It was way beyond the scope of a YouTube film in content and timescale 🙂 but more than sure you will get the idea of how the evening went…..
Please remember as well it was just some fun and nothing in the vlog should be taken seriously.
We hope to try and visit this location again to use as a basecamp for some more vlogging. With Terry in tow we might film some of his bush craft skills and listen in to his thoughts on Scottish Bothy culture.
If you would like to visit Terry’s site and see his take on the evening you can visit his channel through the link below.
